NetOps Lead Mid – NOC
Location: Norfolk, VA (NOC)
This position is responsible for rapid recovery of network outages and the day-to-day network operations at the Network Operation Center (NOC) maintenance while receiving work direction from the shift supervisor. The member acts as an escalation point for technical issues. The position requires support of both unclassified and classified networks. Ensure proactive monitoring utilizing network monitoring tools. Lead conference calls for assigned maintenance activities and outages. Update and resolve outages and maintenance using ticketing systems. Train, coach, and mentor junior team members in their career development. Candidates will be expected to understand, implement, and follow processes in accordance with current policies and procedures. Perform escalation and additional tasks as directed. Stand in as the shift lead as needed. The member reports to the NOC Manager.
EXPERIENCE & TRAINING: A Bachelor in Science with an emphasis in Computer Science or a related technology field is highly desirable. Other evidence of intellectual, technical, business accomplishments, and related technology leadership experiences will be considered. The successful candidate will be an innovative technical professional, customer service oriented, and highly knowledgeable engineer in the field of Ethernet and IP data engineering with a minimum 7 years Cisco networking experience. Position requires a high level of project coordination skills to manage the execution of maintenance activities and network outages. Experience must include network design, operational support, and configuration of network devices such as servers, routers, switches, associated software tools, and cabling in a large LAN/MAN/BAN/WAN environment. A strong knowledge of trouble ticketing software, and network monitoring tools is necessary. Strong Knowledge of network protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP is required. Knowledge and experience working with Virtual Private Networks (VPN), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), and WAN Accelerators and associated technologies is highly desirable.
IAT-II / GSEC; Security+ CE; SSCP or CCNA-Security
Secret Clearance Required
Operating System Certification: BCNE or CCNA. CCNP preferred.
