    • IntellecTechs is looking for qualified candidates to fill the Claims Processing Specialist position in support of the Department of Veterans Affairs Pilot Program – Decision Ready Claim (DRC) Initiative Modernization Support Services      Virginia Beach, VA. These positions will support the VA’s efforts to expedite Veterans Benefits Administration’s decision-making process for disability compensation and dependency and indemnity compensation claims (DIC) processing.  The areas of responsibilities are detailed below:


      Veterans DRC Processing Duties:



      • Work as part of a team to process 335,000 Veteran DIC claims

      • Review VA Form 21-4138 and 21-0985 to determine if additional information is needed for the claimed condition.

      • Request records from the Veterans Service Organizations (VSO) and Veteran.

      • Communicate the status of record requests with the VSO and VA.

      • Use a rules-based system to determine if the conditions identified on the exam request form warrant an exam based on the laws defined in Title 38 of the US Code of Federal Regulations

      • Using VA’s internal guidance established in the M21-1 Adjudication Procedures Manual, Identify which conditions warrant an examination or medical opinion.

      • Identify criteria met or not met in making a determination.

      • Identify the type of medical exam that should be completed for each condition warranting an exam.

      • Provide data and feedback to the various VSOs on errors with submitted examinations or medical opinion request packages that require clarification from VSO or the Veteran.



      • Utilize the VA’s Veterans Benefits Claims processing system which incorporates an Internet authorization application, document processing functionality, optical character recognition (OCR) scanning capability and DRC claims processing software to submit approved examination requests and communicate such with the VSO and/or Veteran.

      • Input and validate medical claims data into the DRC application.

      • Communicate to VSO and/or Veteran that claimed condition(s) does not qualify for DRC

      • Securely provide status updates throughout the process specifically pertaining to Exams or Medical Opinions requests submitted via the DRC exam request system to the appropriate Contract Exam Vendor (CEV).

      • Field and Maintain records associated with calls from VSO and/or Veterans.

      • Troubleshoot exam or medical opinion request issues with CEVs.

      • Provide customer service communication to Veterans and VSOs on exam or medical opinion issues (such as what documentation is missing or needed to complete the request package).

      • Respond to written and oral VSOs, Veterans, and CEV inquiries.


      Veterans Benefits Examination:



      • Examine claims and other DRC requests for Veterans Claims. Documents must be accurate, provide adequate documentation or citations, and comply with laws and regulations. Justification submitted must be in compliance with VA’s guidance and Federal Laws.

      • Review claims for completeness and accuracy.

      • Complete procedural processing of Veterans Benefits claims.

      • Determine sufficiency of package documentation.

      • Possess knowledge of electronic claims editing and submission capabilities, including on-line claims processing and query systems.

      • Respond to written and oral vendor inquiries.


      QUALIFICATIONS:



      • Must be able to obtain a favorable National Agency Check (no criminal record)

      • Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent with 2+ years of experience in the field or in a related area.

      • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Access and Excel.

      • Must have experience working with web-based applications

      • Experience processing Veterans Benefits claims and have strong customer service skills

      • Demonstrated success working in a team environment focused on meeting organizational goals and objectives required.

      • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.


      Position Details:



      • Scheduled Shifts: Monday- Friday 8AM- 4:00PM; 4:00PM – 12:00Midnight. Saturdays may be required.

      This position is responsible for rapid recovery of network outages and the day-to-day network operations at the Network Operation Center (NOC) maintenance while receiving work direction from the shift supervisor. The member acts as an escalation point for technical issues.  The position requires support of both unclassified and classified networks. Ensure proactive monitoring utilizing network monitoring tools.  Lead conference calls for assigned maintenance activities and outages. Update and resolve outages and maintenance using ticketing systems.  Train, coach, and mentor junior team members in their career development. Candidates will be expected to understand, implement, and follow processes in accordance with current policies and procedures.  Perform escalation and additional tasks as directed.  Stand in as the shift lead as needed. The member reports to the NOC Manager.


       


      EXPERIENCE & TRAINING: A Bachelor in Science with an emphasis in Computer Science or a related technology field is highly desirable. Other evidence of intellectual, technical, business accomplishments, and related technology leadership experiences will be considered.  The successful candidate will be an innovative technical professional, customer service oriented, and highly knowledgeable engineer in the field of Ethernet and IP data engineering with a minimum 7 years Cisco networking experience.  Position requires a high level of project coordination skills to manage the execution of maintenance activities and network outages.  Experience must include network design, operational support, and configuration of network devices such as servers, routers, switches, associated software tools, and cabling in a large LAN/MAN/BAN/WAN environment. A strong knowledge of trouble ticketing software, and network monitoring tools is necessary. Strong Knowledge of network protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP is required.  Knowledge and experience working with Virtual Private Networks (VPN), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), and WAN Accelerators and associated technologies is highly desirable.

Secondary role will be as a Technical Event Representative at the center. A majority of the events hosted at the center include at least one flag level military or executive level industry participant. Impeccable customer service must be shown at all times to the on-site government client, event POC’s and all event attendees. Maintaining 100 percent continuity of operations for the conferencing center is paramount.

       

      Primary Responsibilities: As the Network Administrator you will be responsible for all aspects of the conferencing centers’ multiple LANs.       As Network Administrator you will also supervise and work along with a Network Engineer to achieve all of the requirements of supporting the IT and audio/video networks and associated systems. There are wired and wireless NMCI computers and DCS (Defense Connect Systems) where you will have to provide user level support for both on-site and remote users. You will be facilitating all aspects of the keypad voting hardware/software (Option Power by Option Technologies) for events and provide regular training to staff members and POCs on its use. During setup, work with the on-site support team to move/configure event tables, chairs and all audio/video/IT equipment.       This position is responsible for rapid recovery of network outages and the day-to-day network operations at the Network Operation Center (NOC) maintenance while receiving work direction from the shift supervisor. The member acts as an escalation point for technical issues. The position requires support of both unclassified and classified networks. Ensure proactive monitoring utilizing network monitoring tools. Lead conference calls for assigned maintenance activities and outages. Update and resolve outages and maintenance using ticketing systems. Train, coach, and mentor junior team members in their career development. Candidates will be expected to understand, implement, and follow processes in accordance with current policies and procedures. Perform escalation and additional tasks as directed. Update and resolve incident tickets that are assigned to NMS. Participate on required conference calls for all NMS matters. Perform escalation as required for assigned NMS outages. Troubleshoot SNMP traps reported by Network Technicians.


      Job Requirements


      Education:
      Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience in related field. Cisco CCNA and/or Sun Solaris SCSA a plus. Certified in accordance with DODD 8570.1 Information Assurance Technician II. Sec+ or CCNA Security required.


      Experience:
      10+ years’ experience that includes operational support, hands-on implementing and configuration of network devices such as servers, routers, switches, IPS, VPN, desktop computers, and cabling in a large LAN/BAN/MAN/WAN environment.
