19th Annual Veterans Day Service

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – The 19th Annual Veterans Day Service and reception will be held on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Norfolk, Virginia.

Woodlawn Funeral Home and its partners conduct a Veteran’s Day Service annually to celebrate and honor America’s veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good. The Veterans Day Service allows Veterans and their families along with the community to come together to show support and respect for the Gold Star Families and others, who have lost loved ones. Colonel Jack Hilgers, USMC (Retired), Vietnam Veteran and Navy Cross Recipient; the United States second highest decoration for valor will be the guest speaker at this year’s event.

The service begins at 2 p.m. and will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd. in Norfolk, VA. The service is open to the public and more than 150 guests are expected to attend. Jeri Prophet, Honoree of the 2018 YWCA South Hampton Roads Women of Distinction Awards

Jeri Prophet to Deliver Resume Workshop at 5th Annual Veteran Symposium & Career Fair at Tidewater Community College

Ms. Prophet will be providing a workshop on Resume’ writing from 9am – 10am to military-affiliated students and the public.

IntellecTechs Promotes Paul Dockery to Vice President of Operations

(pronounced In-te-LEC-Teks), the premier Information Technology provider of professional services to federal and commercial customers, announced today the promotion of Paul Dockery to Vice President of Operations.  He will have the responsibilities of overseeing the company operations to include the commercial sales of the company and monitoring revenue margins for worker productivity. Paul will also be responsible for developing personnel evaluation guidelines, workforce incentives, staff advancement and recruitment procedures. The goal of the VP of Operations is to positively impact the company’s bottom-line by planning, directing and coordinating operations in support of the company’s growth.

Ms. Jacob brings with her over 14 years of human resource and recruiting experience.  She is known and highly praised throughout the industry for her ability to synchronize talent to companies and her dedicated work ethic to go above and beyond for employees and her company.  She is truly people-focused.  La’Tisha began her career as a recruiter in the healthcare industry and soon realized her desire to work in the Information Technology and Government sector.  She has recruited for companies such as SOCOM, Bon Secours, Riverside, and Capstone.

Ms. Jacob earned the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) in 2015 and the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification in 2010. She is currently on track to receive her BA in Human Resources in 2019.

IntellecTechs Awarded United States Navy Assault Craft Unit Four Contract

(pronounced In-te-LEC-Teks), was recently awarded a contract with the United States Navy Assault Craft Unit Four (ACU-4).  IntellecTechs will develop a Software Development Plan (SDP), which will assist the command with a more efficient, streamlined process to document and record pertinent data.  IntellecTechs was awarded this contract in September 2017.

Ms. Prophet spoke on Cyber Security in the Aerospace Industry.

Virginia AeroSpace Business Association (VASBA) is a statewide nonprofit trade association representing the aerospace industry in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Membership includes more than 25 companies, nonprofits and individuals representing various facets of the industry to advocate for the aerospace industry before federal, state and local policy makers.  VASBA events provide networking opportunities for aerospace industry participants with colleagues, industry leaders and policy makers. Aerospace companies, research labs, academic institutions, individuals and professional service firms are welcome to participate.
