      IntellecTechs is in search for a Data Acquisition Systems (DAS)/Facility Automation Systems (FAS) Technician in Hampton, VA.


      Responsibilities:
      Develops or reviews designs by extracting and analyzing a variety of engineering data. Applies conventional engineering practices to develop, prepare, or recommend schematics, designs, specifications, electrical drawings and parts lists. Conducts tests or experiments requiring selection and adaptation or modification of a wide variety of critical test equipment and test procedures; sets up and operates equipment; records data, measures and records problems of significant complexity that sometimes require resolution at a higher level; and analyzes data and prepares test reports. Applies methods outlined by others to limited segments of research and development projects; constructs experimental or prototype models to meet engineering requirements; conducts tests or experiments and redesigns as necessary; and records and evaluates data and reports findings.


       Set up and acquire test data with various Data Acquisition Systems (DAS). Validate setup by logging instrumentation used, calibration information, scaling factors and displays. Perform in-situ calibration and store new coefficients for subsequent testing. Archive data to appropriate media for delivery tothe customer.


      Qualifications:
      U.S. Citizenship required. Two (2) years of college with courses in computer science, mathematics, or other related engineering courses, plus four (4) years of related engineering experience with some expertise in formulating data for presentation. Additional relevant education may be substituted for a portion of the experience


      Physical Requirements:
      Must have sufficient mobility to enter all areas of wind tunnel and test facilities; crawl, climb, bend, twist etc. (20%) while using and/or wearing appropriate PPE (gloves, respirator, etc).


      Must be able to lift 35lbs.


      Work Environment:
      An office or Control Room environment is the typical work area. Travel to other buildings on-site or nearby off-site facilities will be required.  Project implementations or troubleshooting events will be in an industrial or laboratory environment.  The candidate may be exposed to areas of high voltage, high noise levels, hazardous propellants, explosives, chemicals, and industrial facilities.  [Appropriate PPE and training will be provided.]


      Equipment and Machines:
      Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, fax, copier, etc.). Safety and Personal Protective Equipment. Bench tools, soldering, Logic analyzer, scope, DVM, etc.


      Attendance:
      Regular attendance mandatory (100%) Overtime/work outside normal schedule required (20%)


      Other Essential Functions:
      U.S. Citizenship. Must be able to work in a team atmosphere. Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance as required.
